Facebook Marketplace Denver , CO I can't figure out have to post a link to it but this car will need TLC. It appears to be a #3- or 4 car.
https://www.facebook.com/marketplac...wse_serp:50d6e42f-82b3-435d-824b-df7bf49db0ef A true survivor car! The 1972 Buick GS 455 Stage 1 Convertible is a rare gem that combines power and style. Let’s delve into the details: Buick GS 455 Stage 1 Convertible: The GS 455 was part of Buick’s Gran Sport lineup, which hit its stride in 1970. Buick’s Stage 1 package took performance to the next level. The convertible variant added a touch of elegance to the muscle car genre. Performance Highlights: Engine: The GS 455 Stage 1 was powered by a 455-cubic-inch V8 engine. Horsepower and Torque: In 1972, it produced 270 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. Stage 1 Package: This package included machined cylinder head castings to accept larger valves, upgraded valve springs, and a more aggressive camshaft. Convertible Considerations: Convertibles were heavier than their hardtop counterparts (usually by about a hundred pounds). They had flexier underpinnings due to the lack of a fixed roof. Convertibles were slightly showier and more cruiser-oriented, allowing the outside in. Rare Rarity: In 1972, only 852 GS A-body convertibles were built, accounting for approximately 10 percent of total GS production. This particular Buick GS 455 Stage 1 Convertible is a collector’s dream, showcasing both power and elegance. DM me with offer, will need to be towed. Looks like it could be a decent car. Not into the "DM me your offer" BS though. You selling the car or going fishing?
guy is a piece of work, msg last night and today about title and some engine pics, wont respond ,any body here able to contact??????????????
20 photos and none of the engine? Very little detail about this actual car too. Seems pretty fishy. Maybe it's a legit seller but I would sure be careful with this one. Looks like a Cortez Gold car beside it.
Okay I now see the front of the Olds in one of the photos so let me revise my statement. Looks like a Saturn Gold car beside it (Oldsmobile's name for code 53 that Buick called Cortez Gold). I think 72Stage1 is right, I think it's a scam. Re-read the ad. There is just general info about Buicks but nothing specific about this particular car. Big red flag.
Yes, it does look to be identical to a Zone Office Stage 1 convertible. Everything that I can see in the photos does match: Flame Orange, white interior, rally steering wheel, rally gauges with clock, AM radio with 8-track player, manual windows, A/C, 15" wheels, N25 bumper, bumper guards, and sport mirrors. If anyone does get additional photos and information about this car, please let me know. I have been tracking these cars for a long time and so far I have found confirmed that at least 13 of the 25 still exist but I'm convinced that there are several more out there waiting to be discovered. A photo of the trim tag would be great, as well as the VIN.
I messaged the seller before I make the OP. I never got a response. They did make a revision to the ad and include an asking price of $30K. IF anyone actually makes contact with the seller and wants or needs m assistance with inspecting this car please let me know. I'd be happy to help. In theory, this car is local to me.
Update, made contact with seller. Finally! Then I had a short conversation and there is a tentative plan to go evaluate the car on Sunday.
Great. If it turns out to be a real Flame Orange '72 Stage 1 convertible can you get the VIN and the body number from the trim tag on the firewall so I can see if this is one of the cars I've run across in the past, or if it's a new one to add to the list of surviving Zone Office cars? I don't want or need the owner's name or any personal information. All I'm trying to document is how many of the original 25 still exist, nothing more.
Gary, This is NOT a zone car. It is short several options that every Zone car I've run across have. PM me and I'll give you the numbers. It could be a zone car if they were built with manual windows and seat.
I thought the '72 Zone Cars, unlike the highly optioned '71s, were manual windows/seat. They definitely weren't as well optioned as the '71s.
