Unknown wire near gas tank

    I was working on changing the rear shocks and noticed a cut wire. I was thinking it’s the fuel gauge harness, but it’s working fine. What could this be?

    looks like the original sending unit wire. Maybe someone took a different rout with a new one

    I'm going to have to investigate where the current sending unit wire goes to...

    License plate light? It is the right color for the sending unit wire.
