hey hey, i drive a 65 Le Sabre Lowrider, soemwhere i nthe intro section theres pics, but i got my eye on a 56 special, so i need some tips and what to look for, and pcitures etc etc. ideas as well. i hear the torque tube seal can be trouble, and the master cylinder...anythig nelse?

Even though I have one, no expert.
My only comment is they are 50 years old so there is lots of stuff that could
need work. Hopefully you can test drive it real good and check it like any other car
for leaks, noises, etc. My rule of thumb is if you find 6 things that need fixing,
there will end up being 12. And some of the stuff on these oldies can be expensive.
$375 to get my speedometer fixed, $500 to get the radiator recored, etc.,etc.
Lots of chrome if needing redone can be real expensive on these old babies.
It's usually a better deal to buy one that someone has already fixed up.
P.S. If you do need a radiator get a bigger one or have them put a 3 core
in to replace the original 2 core. These things are notorious for overheating.
The 3 core replacement works great in mine, cool as a cucumber. :Smarty:

whats up OL SKOOL METTY? Are you gonna pick it up? It's well worth the 2000.
As for problems, there will be many but i've found a few good sources through the people on this website.

thanks team. i was told by a few folks the torque tube is a bit of a problem, especially when lowering it, and ya, thats my plan, i picked up some firestone WWW bias' this weekend, and jsut waiting for this fella to get back in town to test drive her. well, i dont think its insured, but ill atleast drop it through the gears with the break on i guess....

Don't do that with a dynaslow, it will break it, no squealling tires....

oh, i wasnt going to spin tires, foot off the gas through the gears, and let it roll an inch or two. dont worry, i dont wanna break anything :bglasses:
