Radiator overflow kit,
Well I came up with a solution to my problem. As I stated before I have a 1969 factory air GS and was looking for an overflow kit. But most importantly where to put it.
Problem solved.
I know most of you as I felt that $28 kit Y-1 sells looks cheesy but function was on my mind.
I was at Advanced Auto parts and they had a 1-quart overflow kit for $7. Now where to put it. Standing in front of the car looking under the hood I realized if I turned the two horn brackets around so the horns faced the headlights instead of the dash I had enough room to install another battery if I wanted to! Needless to say the overflow kit is now located next to the radiator (drivers side). I ran the overflow hose under the radiator cover for a clean looking installation.
I also went from a 15-pound cap to a 13 lb cap and used new black overflow hose instead of the provided clear tubing.
Total cost $15, and it works .
PS: advanced also sells a larger (universal) kit also. I just wanted something to catch that summer time spit when I have the A/C on in traffic!
