I decided to throw my 68 430 into the 307 powered 86 Regal I picked up tonight. I know I need to pick up a rear sump pan and a set of mounts from TA, but does anyone have a list of other parts I'll need to complete the swap? I'll be retaining A/C and heat, and leaving the stock 2004r trans in it.
Thanks,
Artie

Check out the sticky at the top of this forum. I don't know if it addresses Olds-to-Buick swaps, but it's pretty comprehensive, nonetheless. :) Good luck! HTH!

After looking at what I have to work with, it looks like my spare GN radiator/electric fan is my best bet for cooling. I'll hit the boneyards next week to see if I can score some V6 accessory brackets, and maybe an S10 manual steering box. I have a spare 8.5 rear and many other GN parts to use, I want to get a cam for the 430 before I drop it in, hopefully I can get this done in 2 or 3 weeks :)

I'll have the car home Friday night. I bought a 85 Regal roller with an 8.5 rear, it's coming home Thursday. I'm going to part the 85 out to get some money back, I only bought it for the rear. I figure I can swap rears this weekend, throw in a spare converter from the GN for now, then do the motor swap the following weekend. I will be grabbing the accessories off my spare LC2 to use on the 430 as I like the idea of running a serpentine belt. I haven't decided on headers or manifolds yet, anyone know if I can use Skylark/GS headers? Once I get everything in and running I'll start working on EFI for it.

I hate to admit it, but the main reason for using the 430 is because I have one here. It was a hard choice between the 430 and my spare GN engine, but one turbo Buick is hard enough on my spare time(and wallet!).

The 430 has great power to weight ratio in a G body.I hear what your saying about the Turbo motor,It's all good! The + thing about that BB is there's NO LAG

There's not much lag in the GN with a T76 ball bearing turbo, heads/cam and 3800 stall either :)

But now you'll have a BBB Regal and a turbo Regal. The best of both worlds! :beer

I decided to sell my 86 Regal, if I get it sold quick enough I'm buying a friend's '80 Regal that already has a cage and ladder bar rear suspension.
