Hood Hinges Question

Hi guys.

I have a question. Will hood hinges from a 1958 Buick Special fit on a 1955 Buick Century?

I don't think they are the 'same'. As far as will they fit? check the overall lenghts of each. This is tough to do if you still have yours installed on the car though.
Slightly longer springs will not pull the hood up as high, slightly shorter springs will seem nearly impossible to install.

Your best shot is to use hinges from a small series '56. These are "self contained" and don't have that long spring that attaches to the bottom of the cowl as on the '55. Some modification has to be done to your firewall but the swap can be done without too much fabrication. Also, you may want to look into hinges from a '54 thru '56 Olds. I haven't tried Olds hinges yet so I don't know if they might make for a better swap.
