OK Buick experts... If you could pick the perfect header for my car what would it be???

464 C.I.
Stage II heads
Lift .100 .200 .300 .400 .500 .600 .700
Int. 66.8 147 227 290 331 336 336
Exh. 71 129 180 215 243 253 253
E/I% 106 88 79 74 73 75 75

Compression 12.8 to 1
Cam: T/A 508s.... 272@.050 int .... 272@.050 exh... 108 lca...

The current headers are 2 1/8 Primaries 29 5/8" to 33" long with 4" dia. collectors and 9" long.

If anyone has any GOOD information they can pass along I would appreciate it. I am looking to make a few changes so while I am doing this and can improve what I have I will do it now.

Thanks

I am curious as to how ported your heads may be?

I had TA do the jet hot coatings on my TA headers and I am most impressed with them. I wish they were cheaper BUT you get what you pay for!!

John,
I have a set of 2 1/4" Stage 2 headers for a chassis car for sale. They are jet hot coated and are in excellent condition if your interested in trying something bigger.

John, your setup sounds pretty similar to Dad's engine, except you're running just a bit more cam (he's running the 308s). Wish I had dyno #'s to give you, but he had a custom set of 2-1/4" primary headers built, and saw no change in ET or MPH one way or the other over the 2-1/8" primary "tweaked to fit" TA headers.

John:

I think the only real improvement in header design that you could utilize would be a set of custom built stepped headers. I checked on some from a local "specialist" up here and it was over $1,000......bare......ouch!!! But hey the saying rings true "if you wanna play you gotta pay". I talked to Dave Johnson a bunch about this and decided to stick with the 2 1/8" pri. tube TA headers. My engine combo is similar, with slightly different flow #'s (Stage 3 heads) and a roller cam.

Talk to you later.
