Well I got my motor in today and my headers were the easiest part (I had my front clip off btw). They were dented in the right spot so I set them in the general area they're supposed to be in and zip-tied them to my a arms and steering. Then I dropped my motor in. I had to move them around a little bit but that was it.

Just an idea to get around all the pain in the a$$ way of mounting headers.

Where did you get the headers to fit your 350 in 84 Regal?

They are just small block buick skylark headers. The previous owner of the headers dented them on the passenger side to clear the back lower control arm bracket.

I hope you cleaned em up and gave em a coat of good header paint. :TU:

Those look like the same headers I have on the 455 in my '83 Regal T-type. Judging by the fact that I can see your flywheel, you're going to have fun installing the transmission. I suppose it could be a 200-4R specific thing, but I had a bear getting mine in, because the width of the bellhousing is wider than the space between the header primaries.

Wasn't a lot of fun. I think I put mine in at an angle, with the tailshaft closer to the driver's side, and then tilted the transmission so the passenger's side was higher. Then I rotated it after I got both ears past the headers. :blast:

Its a turbo 350, but we just un-did the motor mounts and pulled motor, hooked it up, and put it back in.

Thanks for the tip though, Ill have a 200-4r soon.

I cut the ears off my Turbo 400 to clear the headers for easy in & outs. The ears on the 400 are for the dust cover I believe. Plus my car is now 4 ounces lighter and about 0.001 seconds quicker as a result..........
