Your best bet is to stay with the '56 set-up. I tried a '55 setup (non-swing pedal) on a '56 several years ago with limited results. Kits for those things were impossible to find even back then. I would like to think that someone since then has reproduced the parts. Have you tried Kanter?
Good luck,
John

If your wanting a complete factory look then this isnt for you. What I ended up doing is getting a 8th inch steel plate cut by a machine shop so i didint have to make any new holes. Used a booster and master cylinder froma chev s 15. Bent steel line and adapted it to a t ad it stopped better than before. I would have kept it stock but was to costly to rebuild the old one. The only butchering I had to do was to cut the old push rod and weld it to the new one. The used booster and master cylider-35 bucks, machined plate-50 bucks. AND it doesnt look too out of place, unles your being a **** and looking for details like that

thanks a lot for all the help guys. appreciate it. i figured a typical GM set-up would be smarter and cheaper anyways, but maybe someone had leads. i figure ill jsut modify it, because im not doing a restor, doing a rod. thanks

What i did was I took the old and the new boosters to the machine shop and made them understand exactly what the plate had to do, I'll tell ya man I couldnt have come out better. everything centered up perfect. 50 bucks at the time seemed a bit steep but when it all came together so easy, almost a tear. Ha, good luck.
