Mystery three speed?

Fellow buick enthusiasts!

I have a 63 lesabre vert with three on the tree and 51000 miles.

I have the 63 Buick body service manual and chassis manual. Neither addresses a three speed.

Here is the problem I am having. I am getting a ticking noise with the clutch released in idle. When I depress the clutch pedal lightly and slowly, the first thing I notice is the the ticking goes away and there is pulsing in the pedal as the clutch is engaged everything begins to operate normally as far as I can tell.

I am thinking it is the throw-out bearing and/or fork.

Anyone else experiance this?

Where can I get pics of the shift linkage for a three speed?

I can't help much. But I would look for a grease plug on the bell housing in the area where the ball stud pivot for the clutch fork is. If there is one, a couple shots should get rid of the noise. If there is no grease plug, this ball stud and the clutch fork are probably worn enough to need replaced.

But, like I say, I don't know much about early Buicks. The suggestion above is just an observation on most later GM manual trans, including trucks.

I believe your '63 uses the same bellhousing as my 65-'66's.

The complete throwout bearing assembly is difficult to find. But if the hub and spring clips are in good condition, you should be able to have just the bearing replaced.
The bearing is a BCA #1505 on my '66
