In researching full-size Buicks of 1964, I come up with an inconsistancy as to whether on not there should be cardboard cutouts in the trunk that cover the hinges and inner rear fenders. I save a lot of images off eBay, and in searching through those I notice most all the Electras have these in place, and some Wildcats and some Lesabres. I also have seen pictures of them in various stages of missing and disrepair. I have also seen pictures where there is cardboard covering the hinges, but not the innner fender.
Questions: Did all '64 big cars come with these cardboard coverings and they just got thrown away over the years, or was this only and Electra thing, or maybe an option that could be had by none or all? Did the factory glue the same trunk liner up the sides and then cover them with cardboard? Your recollections and personal experiences are welcome.
