You can see in my auto sig what car I have, let me explain what tire wheel combo's I have:

I have a nice set of 15" Buick Rally rims with good chrome and a set a Polyglas GT60's. This is what I use for car shows....4th of July parade.....that type of stuff. I do love the way the car looks with those tires, but no need to go into how poor they perform. I drive this car like it was meant to be, it's not a trailer queen....

I also have the stock 15" rims, these are the rims that have the extra backspacing.....??..... these are the rims where you can put a "Quarter" on the lip. Most of you know what I mean. Anyway.....the chrome is worn, I've tried to polish them and I even took them to wheel place to have them poished....no luck.

Since I'd like to keep the nice 15" rims I have with the Polyglas tires for those special occasions, I'd like to get a new set of 15" rally rims from specialty or wheel vintiques. With that said, here's the look I want, please help me with the size and off-set:

The front will have stock size 245/60/15's on them, so a brand new pair of 15x7's will be perfect for the front.....

The Rear will have 295/50/15's on them (I already have tires), I'd go wider if I could, but I don't want to modify anything. What size rear rim and off-set should I get to run this size tire or larger if I could fit it?

Thanks

I'll be more specific with my question:

I like the look of 295/50/15's on the rear of our cars, what size rim should I get..... a 15x8 or A 15X10.... :Do No:

I don't think there's any special off-set if I go 15x8, but if the board suggests I go with a 15x10, what off-set?

I will stick with a new 15x7 in the front unless a 15x8 would bring any benefit I can't think of.

Thanks

Vin,
8" rim will be OK for the 295 tires, 10" would be better. The backspacing on the 8" is I believe 4 1/2". On the 10", I believe the backspacing is 5 5/8" Phil Sedlon (70 gsconvt) uses the 325/50R-15's on a 10" rim. You might want to check with him to verify. Here's a thread on this.

Thanks Larry.

I saw that thread, that's what got me thinking about the 10", but Phil mentions he had to trim the inner lip to fit the 325's, I'm hoping that's not the case with the 295's. I don't want to trim anything, car is worth a bit too much now.

I'll try and send Phil an email or PM.

Thanks
