My Dad was concidering putting a Th400 into the '63 Riviera until we found out how much fun it would be...so now the question is how hard would it be to drop a Buick 455 in that engine bay?

The problem is the tranny needs rebuilding and no one in the area (N.E. Arkansas) will touch it and that heavy arse block of metal is still in the car...yes we fought with it before to replace seals. :af:
I picked up a '73 455 and a Th400, so the engine/tranny is available.

Here is what I know about the 455

23" Outside of valve cover to outside of other valve cover
28" Outside of exhaust manifold to outside of other exhaust manifold
30" Height from bottom of sump to top of air cleaner
30" Height from bottom of sumt to highest point on intake manifold
27" Height from bottom of sump to top of Carburetor
29" Length from rear mounting surface to water pump pulley
22" Length from rear of intake manifold to water pump pulley

But I don't have any info on the Nailhead and I'm not near enough (3 hours) to measure it myself...Dad's an OTR driver and is rarely home (he said that retirement is 9 mos away).

Any suggestions?

for some reason your link is dropping characters in the middle of the address. i think mine should be good.

Thank you...I've noticed that quite a few times on different links in my favorites file. Time for updating them I believe.

check your windows or internet explorer defaults ... for some reason your copy or ctrl + c function is picking up the actual displayed ( shortened ) ascii text instead of the real underlying web address. this results in a bad link when you paste it into a post or file.

you can see whether or not the full address is actually present by mousing over it ... the link which will be attempted if you left click on it will be displayed in the bottom left of your IE window.
