65GS rear tire size ( MAX )

I like the look of this combo ! ( see pic ) what is the max tire size ( rear ) for a 65GS I would like to go with a taller tire front and back ! Moz

that does have a good look. i tried to fit a 275-60-15 on an 8" rim w/ 4.5" of back spacing. it just rubbed on the out side of the wheel well on the left side, the right just barely cleared. you may be able to use them with an 8" rim w/ 5" back space. you should see if someone you know has a set up you can try. bfgoodrich has a complete pdf page with all of there tire specs and recommended rim widths. good luck, paul c.

That L60-15 is it without modification.
These front and rear tire's are just under 28" tall

The rear rims are GM 15x7
front are GM 15x6

The section width of the rear tire is roughly 12" and there isn't room to get my finger between the sidewall and the lip(outer wheelhouse)

You can on these 65's gently massage the outer wheelhouse to make more room without altering the actual lip. The sidewall would touch the wheelhouse long before it EVER touched the wheel lip.
The inside has plenty of room, no problem.
