67 Body tag. BF plant code

I have a 67 GS that has the plant code of BF

Date code is 03B

Body number is BF00095


It seems late in the season (March) to be on body number 95.

What plant was BF?

I have another 67 and the plant code BAL, which is Baltimore.



Any comments out there??

Fremont California.

I am guessing that the F is for Fremont CA.

I thought that Z was for Fremont.


Also the body number is 00095 and the date code is the second week in March.

This must have been one small plant to only be on #95 in March.

I think loosely the B is for Body. So BL = Fisher Body plant Linden, BK = Fisher body Plant Kansas, BW = Fisher Body Wilmington etc depending on the year.

I assume Z= Fremont Assembly Plant as opposed to the Fisher body Plant.

Looking at the VIN is a less confusing way to determine the plant for me on the '67s, if it has a "Z" in there before the last 6 digits it was assembled in Fremont. Here's a VIN plate froma '67 GS 400 conv, notice the funny stamping on this original car (this is not a reproduction tag)

Here's the bodytag for the car wearing the VIN plate I just posted, yes it has a "BF". It was built in April 1967 and also has a low body number.
