Hello since there has been a number of people on here that have had there cars documented threw the Sloan Museum.. I was cuirious.. Can they document weather or not the car came originally with a four speed?? This is for a 1969 GS 400 convertible...Thankyou Randy :Do No:

Ya man, no problem. They give you the order sheet for the car. Every option is listed. Its pretty cool.

So Sloan has all the original paperwork on all these cars? What years can they go back to?? I know they don't have 1971 do to the fire... but what years can they do? Randy

I was under the impression Sloan didn't have the 69 or 67 as well as the 71. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

You are correct, the earliest info they have is for the first half of the 1970 model year, then they skip right over to the 72 model year.

Wayne Roberts has the last half of the 1970 model year, and nothing is available for the 1971 cars.

I have it on good authority that the 71 microfilm is out there. Whoever has it just hasnt stepped forward yet.

I know you are a serious Buick nut, and I would not doubt what you say, but that is one HELL of a statement!!!! That would turn the 71 GS world upside down! Anything else you can add??????

I just stumbled onto this thread, and since I own an undocumented 71 it has
peaked my interest.

Why would this information be in private hands and how would it have been aquired.
Did buick give it way , throw it out, or maybe clipped.

If it is out there, wouldn't it be valuable for sale to 71 owners or would that person use it to buy undocumented ones and sell them later as documented after publication

I'm just wondering why someone would be sitting on this.

Im sure it was either thrown out or discarded. Why someone is sitting on it is the $64,000 question. Only time will tell
