I performed searches here, and on Gesslers website, but can't find this intake# anywhere B1236889 it sits on a 350, and has a 4bbl mounted to it.
It also has 8 (space) H (space) 2 cast on it, spaced a couple inches apart from each other.
Could also use help with this block stamp# 41H100503 This number was stamped on the front face of the block, behind the distributor. Block does have the typical 1382201 cast on the back of the block, along with the number 4.
Also, I looked between cylinder 1 & 3, for head stamp, and could only find a few numbers that do not show up in any searches.
T (space) D (space) 025
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks! Kurt

1236889 is a '71 350-4V intake. I compared it to a spare I have here.
Block stamp 4=Buick, 1=1971, H= build plant Flint Mi., 100503 sequence build number on the car it was in. 100503 will match the last 6 digits on the VIN tag if it's in the original car.

Excellent!! Thanks Steve! I wonder why our intake#s don't show on any lists? Now just need to find out about these heads :TU:

TD is deck code for '71 350-4V, 260HP/360TQ when new. Advertised HP/TQ ratings were changed early '70's. Not sure on the details.

The Torques /hp rating convention was changed after the 71 model year to go from roughly the gross rating method to the SAE convention for the 72 model year. This equates roughly to a 20% adjustment to convert from one convention to another. From the description attributed to Dennis Manner about how Buick ran the engines on their factory dyno before 72 they apparently did not exactly use the gross method because they ran some accessories.

I am interested in the HP and torque ratings, which I would think HP is HP and torque is torque, no matter which rating convention you choose to measure with. Can we assume 260/360 then, for this block? :Do No:

Yes and no. 260HP was the gross rating. The same engine in '72 was rated at 190HP net. Same heads, cam, compression, manifolds, etc. Just depends on which standard of measurement you go by.

The "H" is for August and the "2" means the part was cast 8/2 1970 for use on a 71 car. Not sure about the 8. Most manifolds have jsut the letter followed ny one or two digits I think.
