i have a chance to purchase a 1977 skylark sr what engine is suppose to be in it. it has a 305 in it, i thought that the sr came with chevrolet 350.also is the car really worth anything and what should i watch for iam a big buick fan i really need some help on this one. thanks

LOTS of different engines were put in the late 70's Buicks.

post the VIN. engines are coded in VINs from 72 up. if the 5th digit is a "U", you've likely got the original engine.

they came with chevy 305's or buick 350's.

now, just imagine this car with the big block it should have .....a few easy mods and..........yeah, tearin' sh$t up.

there are a few of us on the board who have droped big blocks into these cars. its a fairly easy swap.
