Let me start out by saying I am brand new to the Buick world. I have owned several chevelles. I purchased a 1971 Buick GS. The car is awsome. I would like to put a set of 18 inch wheels on the car but I am not sure of the backspacing, and how wide of a wheel you can put on this car. Does anyone here have any expeirience with this? Any help would be great.

Im a really big fan of the show overhaul'n and I'm pretty sure foose put 20x9 on the white and purple 69 vert that he did. Also, I'm going to put 18's on my 68 and the wheel shop said I should have no problem with fitment. Sorry I couldn't give exact numbers on the offset but...

I am a fan of the show too. Is there anywhere I can find specific details regarding rim width and offset information.

Thanks for your help.

im runng a 20x8.5 rim with 6" of backspacing. 255/30/20 rear and a 225/35/30. front rubs a bit at full turn.... 18's wont be a problem. as long as there not 10" rims you shouldnt have a problem with a 5.5-6" backspace.

BOYD CODDINGTON SMOOTIE II 5s, 9x18 Set of 5 - $1050
For Sale is a set of Five Boyd Coddington SMOOTHIE II 5s. They are 9x18 with a 5 on 4 3/4 bolt pattern. They have a 6" back spacing. They are a beautiful looking wheel. They would Look even better on a 60's cruiser or a late model truck. They have just been cleaned and repolished. SEE for your self.

Would these wheels work?I couldn't figure out how to post the pictures. They are beautiful though.Seems kinda big for the front.
