I am going to replace my original transmission with something else. I'm not sure what to replace it with. I was going to replace it with a Muncie, but I had a reputable transmission shop tell me that I would probably be better off buying a Super T-10 or a T-10 (I'm pretty sure they told me the Super T-10). My question to you is, what should I do? I don't mind buying a Super T-10 as long as I can get the same gear ratio's that are currently in my GS now. If I can't get the same gear ratio's, how does that affect my speedometer? Is the T-10 (Super) just as durable as the Muncie? Basically what are the pro's and con's of each and what is you opinion of what I should do. I am building a stout BBB so I do want it to hold up. Some of the basics are Stage 1 Aluminum heads (fully ported), 10.7:1 compression, either an SP1 or SP2 intake. My goal is to have about a low 11 high 10 second motor. In the long run I will buy a GS or Skylark to put this drivetrain into, but for now it's going into my GS until I can save up money to do a frame-off restoration and put it back to original, but that will be quite a while down the road. Alright enough of my ranting... Any opinions?
