Where can I find the VIN serial number on my 70 GS 350 motor?

Check behind the power steering pump bracket on the LH side of the block.
Number will be stamped but may be full of paint/grime..etc..
Starts with a 4=Buick, 0=1970, Letter=build plant, next 6 digits will be sequential number on the VIN.

Front left under the head and behind the power steering pump.

Is there any easy way to see the number without removing the power steering pump bracket?

I looked all over the area under the head and didn't see any number. So I assume, it is literally behind the power steering pump bracket. Therefore I would have to remove the bracket.
