hello all!

I'm looking for some new wheels and tires for my '64 Riviera and wanted to see what others had tried that worked and didn't work. I'm thinking 17-20" rims and as wide as I can get them without rubbing.

My questions are:
Hub size?
Back spacing?
max width?
max tire size?
any other helpful advice?

thanks in advanced

Just about any tire wider than 225 will rub when near lock to lock. I have 235's on my 64 and the inside of the front tires a scuffed from the rubbing.

Pretty sure the width is 6 inches, not sure on the backspacing, I'll have to look for some reference material. Also be aware you have 3 or 3.5 inch hubs, that may also pose some problems for some wheels.

3.5 inch hubs, 3 3/8ths backspacing, 6" width 5 on 5 bolt pattern.
