Just bought a set of 4 used 15x7 rallye rims - should the black inset be
semi-gloss or gloss black? Thanks.

I used semi gloss on mine. But I know others that used gloss, and it will fade out to semi gloss after a while.
I taped them off good and sand blasted them inside and out. Sure helps with sealing the tire bead to the rim.
Good luck,

I have used Rustoleum semi gloss black. Looks nice and is rock hard. no chips. I believe the factory used enamel for the wheels unlike the lacquer on the bodies of the cars.
