Fuel Delivery

I figured this was the place to ask the question.

I am going to be running a holley 1000 HP on my 430 when its finished, so i was looking into the fuel systems, and decided to get the rail that you put one line into it and it curves it into bot front and back bowls

Then i decided it woul dget better flow, with my regulator which has one in and two outs, if i put one out to the rear bowl and one to the forward bowl, two seperate lines.

After this, i just decided it would be even better to just by two of the rail things that put one line to the front and back carb bowl inlets, put one on each side, and put one out from my regulator to each.

Would there be any benefit to any of these over another?

hey steven- i used to run the regulator as u described, main line at the bottom and then 1 on either end of the carb. i think u will be fine like this or u can use a regulator with a return line back to the tank which is even better. good luck either way:beers2:

does a return line have a good purpose on an electric pump?

There is NO point to plumbing to both sides of the float bowls--the needle and seat can only flow so much fuel, and one fuel tube will supply more than enough.

As for using one or both sides of the regulator--do what looks good to you. Again, there'll be no functional difference.

If you try to use one outlet of the regulator for a fuel return, be sure there's a restriction in that side, or all your fuel will just go back to the tank.

yes steven there is a positive to running a return line on an electric pump. 1-the fuel doesnt dead-head, meaning the pump does not exert to much pressure continually trying to push fuel thru. this lets the pump run cooler.2- because the fuel in a return system is in a loop so to speak, the fuel tends to stay cooler. i have used both systems in the past. but if i were u i would give that big ol carb plenty of cool fuel. 1/2 inch fuel line wouldnt hurt either but u could run 3/8 if ur not really racing. good luck either way.:3gears: ralph
