I was wondering if anyone knows of a supplier of lines for a 56. Are they worth the money or should I just do it myself? Thanks

If you know what the original pattern is you can do it yourself. Lines are a toss up. If you are anal, you may want them bent for you on computerized equipment (if they have the factory patterns) or you can bend them yourself and get them "close". There's no real science to it but the final look is the big difference. Honestly, even the tranny tubes I got from Classic tube I still had to "coax" to line up.
Here's a link I found with some 50's lines available from The Right Stuff.

Thanks. This post should put me @ ten. Now I can see your link. I'll probably diy the lines. No cool car stories come from the "someone else did all the work files."

I bought pre-bent brake lines from a company for my 65 special and so far not one of them has been right. i'm going to make my own lines and send the pre-bent back.

I have always made my own. Recently I started using the 'EZ' bend tubing that comes in a roll of about 25'. It works really easily but is very difficult to get a perfectly straight length of more than a few feet as you have to unroll it as you go. I like it because it bends easier and you can run one line front to back with no couplers. I get it at work (GM dealer) but the stuff from NAPA is coated to reduce rusting. With this you will need to make every flare on it yourself unlike the premade lengths though.
