67 Riv tires

One of my 67 Rivs came with 8.45-15 and the other H70-15. Was 67 the transition year in size designations?

To the best of my knowledge, the stock tire size for that car is H78-15. (P225/75R15) If you go to a wider tire, such as '70' series, then in order to maintain the proper tire height, you should use L70-15. (P235/70R15).

I don't think the tire size changed in '67, they should all be the same from '66-'70 as far as I know. :idea2:

I thought they came with the oddball J-78's from the factory?

For what it's worth, my '67 chassis manual says 8.45 x 15 for base Riviera, H70 x 15 for Riviera GS. No optional tires in the "optional" column.
