I picked up the other day 4 used Edelbrock wheels. As I remember they made them for only a relatively short period of time.I can't find out when if anyone knows.I realize that there is another firm who is redoing one of the Edelbrock styles. The wheel models were known as 429,426 and 409.It doesn't take much imagination to determine what the genesis of these numbers was! Anyway the wheels I got are the 409 style and are 15x7.They are like new and I will be putting them on the car soon(for test purposes only!!).I don't have pix as yet.I wish they had been the 8 inch wide ones, not the 7 inchers though. They have a pronounced negative offset and are quite light.
They look almost exactly like the Boyd Coddington Junkyard Dog wheels.Does anyone else have Edelbrocks on their Buick?

I had ordered a set of the Edelbrock wheels a few years ago when they were available. Three of the four came in with defects. I sent them all back and went with forged cragars instead. The Edelbrocks were made by Ultra Wheels at the time and quality control was nonexistant (at east in my experience) Here are a few pictures of the flaws.

It's a shame as I really liked the look of the wheel.

Looks like someone stole your headlight...I think I see him sneaking behind the car there...lol I am really liking the paint scheme you have on your car. The blue looks great!

Thanks for the compliments on the car.The blue is ,if I remember(the car was painted 9 years ago) , cloisonne-a GM color in 1984? Anyhow it has been servicable.Yup somone stole my headlight, stole one on the other side too. That poor fellow peering at the back of the car is my ever suffering wife with her hair "tied up".She is fortunately a gearhead and loves going out in the old beast.
Thankfully the wheels have no flaws. To me they look as good as the ralleys-not better but just as good. They are about 5-8 pounds lighter per wheel as well. One thing I have done to the car that's worthwhile!!

Chris,
I had a great time even if a short visit.Wonderful hospitality!Don't know about the kart but I wouldn't mind taking the chopper out for a good run.A real ground shaker!!! Would like to get back out to the left coast but it will likely be a couple of years. You are welcome out here you know-the ice is out and the snowtires are tucked away:laugh:
Take care,
Rod
