I've been eves dropping on this board for months, learning all kinds of stuff. What a fantastic place for Buick lovers. I decided it might be time to introduce myself and start giving and recieving some advice. My first car was a 66 Special 2 dr HT, my second was a 66 Skylark Convertible. A couple years ago I found a 68 Skylark at a pawn shop and couldn't resist. I enrolled in a local technical school and am learning how to do the body work. Got a lot of learnin to do.

Good luck, Brian. Don't get discouraged. The biggest problem with bodywork is to keep up your level of workmanship. It's a big temptation to finish up sometimes. I find it's worthwhile to have a buddy nearby to help you stay focused on doing a good job.

Good to have you on the board. There's a pretty good crowd of fellow classic Buick owners within a couple hours drive of you, and I know at least a couple that could give solid bodywork advice to boot. If you ever find yourself in Kansas City, feel free to drop me a line.

Where are you taking classes? Are you going to McPherson?

I just started a couple of weeks ago at Butler County College, in Ed Dorado. Ground into my quarter panels last night and found about 1/4 inch of body putty around the rear fender. Oh, well looks like I might be working on this one for quite a while.
