I am looking for a nice tire for my 71 GS resto that is just wrapping up. I picked up 4 15X7 Rallyes at the BG nationals. What tire size and brand work for these rims based on your exp. I am hoping for a little bigger tire on the back than the front. Thanks for any input.

My 72 has 225/ 70/ 15s which I would think would be minimum size and are
fine for me. They happen to be BFG white letters which are pretty common too. You could go with 235/65 on the rear probably. You should check back spacing etc, though. By the way I also picked up a set of 15 x 7 Buick ralleys which will going on shortly. Anyone interested in my old Cragars? They look pretty good too for more of an old school look.:beers2:

P245/60R15 is the closest size to the G60-15 that was the optional tires on the GS. If you like, you can mount a P275/60R-15 on the rears, and it will fit no problem. The 275 tire likes an 8" rim better, but it will work on the 7" wheel.

Roger
Out of curiosity what are you looking for on the Cragars, w/o tires?

Asking $250 plus shipping (usually $80 to $100/ set)
Can send some close ups if interested. Good chrome and
center caps, some light rust starting in the flange corners.
Rust will probably remove but leave some pitting behind.
I'm in Ohio so pick up would save some bucks. Will be a
couple of weeks before I get my newer Buick wheels.

Pete, got some close ups and tried to post them here, but haven't shown up yet for some reason. If they don't I'll send you another respond to your PM and get your email if necessary. OK?

Edit, got the pics to take on second try.

i run 245R60-15" bfg t/a radials on my 15x7 rims. would be nice if these tires were made with a summer tread and not all seasons. they are somewhat noisy on pavement. but what the heck.

I have 245/60/15 on my car

<img src="http://www.bigtreeway.com/red1.jpg">

I really like the 245/60/15 size..my last car I had 235/60/15 and they where to small..I did not want 2 different sizes on my car in case I had a flat. I also like the 225/70/15 but that size is allmost 1" taller and I wanted my car to look stock..
