I am restoring the dash in my car and have everything out at the moment. I am obviously taking advantage of the additional access to everything behind the dash to look for the ever elusive "Build Sheet."

While I haven't found the build sheet (yet...) I did find this paper tag hanging from a wire loop in the passenger side near where the upper door hinge is mounted.

What is this and can anyone (Duane) make any meaning of the info on the tag?

As always, thanks for any input!

It means that inspector #2 says your car is OK.

I've never seen one of those, it's more fun than finding silver quarters under the back seat.

Rob,
I don't know what was inspected, but Inspector #2 said it was OK.

After looking at the tag for more than a second it now seems kinda obvious what it is.... an inspection tag :Dou:

My car has the body tag build date as 04D so that is the 4th week of April. This tag seems like the date is 4-10. So, I'm assuming that there was an inspection of some sort of assembly stage on that date. I think it's very interesting when you find things like this that verify the dates and expectations for the assembly of our cars.

I also found another interesting DATE stamped on the vent grill on the drivers side of the dash. It reads April 22, 1970 and again verifys the build date info. Here's a pic of that date stamp.

I'm STILL LOOKING for the "Build Sheet" but starting to lose hope....
