usually i have a hard time accepting no as an answer but this time was different. my last eye doctor visit didn't go as well as planned, my eyes have been getting worse over the years ,gradually getting thicker lenses! well i was told that evenyually i will have lost the central portion of my sight i have myopic degeneration i will still retain periferal vision and that's it, after i was told that i really don't remember what else the doctor told me i was shocked!! i have found out that lasik or lense replacement is not an option that it was just "how it goes"!!! since the age of 17 i have been fighting to keep my liscense, i pleaded with the 2 doctors that i saw to somehow get a few more years so i can renew it again but the answer was NO and that they wouldn't sign the paperwork so i can get a renewal. (the state of new hampshire makes you see a doctor and get a paper signed if you fail the vision test) that last time wasn't a problem new lenses fixed that issue well i guess it's not gonna happen again!! SO...i have a musclecar and a nice suv just sitting there because i have no idea what i'm going to do with them just yet!! I am open to suggetion as to what course i can take maybe there is something i can do i'd like a few more years to enjoy my car!! thanks for listening and all and any prayers are very helpful!!!! thank you

Dude, so sorry to hear the news. I would also seek a third opinion...maybe in boston. Some real good docs there. Best of luck, neighbor.

Rich, I am new here but I wanted you to know that you will be in my prayers. I have had vision issues all of my life as well, although nothing as severe as yours. I don't know of any research that will help but I will let you know if I find anything.

I'll be remembering you in my prayers. I couldn't even pretend to know why your journey seems to be to darkness, but I pray that Holy Spirit guides you during this journey.

Rich, I really feel for ya.... my wife has Fuchs disease, which is a degenerative cornea, transplants are the only savior, we are on the list.... not a day goes by that I don't look for a secret cure somewhere....

We definitely gotta get together sometime. I'd love to check out your ride as its been a long time since ive seen a buick with paint on it!!! (one day I'll spring for paint on mine, its been primer for 5 yrs now. Something more important always seems to come up. I know, I know, what could POSSIBLY be more important than the car?) But house needs a new roof, floors need to be stripped, water tank is ready to poop out etc etc. Never enough hours in the day. I'm gonna be having a party at my house in Weare pretty soon...I'll let you know the details when I figure them out. Keep strong, my friend. Attitude is everything, and you got the right one! :beer

Sorry to hear of your situation Rich---I don't have words---makes me feel
terrible when I complain about my minor aches and pains---any problem I
think I have is MINOR compared to your situation. My prayers go out to you
and your family. Sincerely Pete

Really sorry to hear about your situation . In Viet Nam I had a severe head injury which effected my vision (triple vision ) doctors didinot expect me to survive surgery but I am here and still raising hell and racing Buicks . So I do have some idea how you feel , just some idea . My prayers definately go out to you . After surgery and many months of recouperative care my vision finally cleared but at 57 its going down again . Good Luck my friend and God Speed
