One would hope that if you made up a sign like that you would know the cid of your own engine.

Good catch. I saw the car but didn't have my camera with me at that time (and was feeling guilty).

That guy needs to be B-slapped! 465 cubic inches huh?

http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g77/joeinbuffalo/rofl.gif

That's why I hate it when people put those rediculas signs out in front of their cars. You can say anything you want to..........no wonder people from the general spectator crowd walk up to us Nailhead guys and say "is that a 455"? :spank:

........they keep blowing down in the wind anyway :Dou:

Gorgious 'cat though!

Just because you haven't seen or owned one doesn't mean it dosesn't exist.I've fooled with old cars my whole life, that doesn't mean I know every make and model ever made.Get your facts straight before you imply that some one is a liar.

The Wilkopedia entry is not terrible, but not entirely accurate.

Pete Phillips has a 63 Wildcat 425 4-speed convertible, also a ##s matching engine...very few out there!

It is Ultra cool that we have you 63 guys with them here on the board!

That's not the first time I've heard he had a con'vt. I have also heard he has a t/d,h/t parts car. I would really like to talk to him.If anybody knows him relay the message for me please. Thanks for the welcome, hopefully I can be of assistance in the future.

I see those a lot here in Michigan (I have seen 4 in the last year.) I posted some pictures of that car a few years ago and he had the same sign posted, this was at the Frankenmuth show. Last month I raced against one that would qualify as a rat rod it was so rusted out but it ran low 15's. There is a 4 speed convertible in the Flint Buick club that I see at many local shows.

Doug if you see him again in a tasteful way tell him why he does not have a 465 cid engine.

The car is usually at Frankenmuth, will try again to find owner.

Jim,

You are tastefully invited to Greenup Co. KY to view a all numbers matching original 425 cid. '63 Buick Wildcat 2 door hardtop. If you do not want to make the trip to Kentucky I will gladly provide any pictures that you request. Being as the engine is removed from the car, the block on an engine stand and the car in the process of being torn down for restoration. If you will look in the thread "Wet Behind the Ears" you will see how I came across this car.

I did not pull 3 combat tours in Iraq and come back as a disabled veteran to try to "B/S" a bunch of Buick enthusiasts. I know what I have, and the one thing that I will not tolerate from anybody is being called a liar because, I am a man of my word and I know a little about cars.

Dusty

Calm down.

What in the heck are you saying? Do you think you have a 465cid engine too?

You have never heard me suggest that you or anyone else does not have a 425 cid engine .

wildcat63
08-21-2007, 05:12 PM
A 425 cid is a 465 torque

flynbuick
08-21-2007, 05:19 PM
No kidding. I think all of us know that. But the owner's sign says 465 cid engine which is incorrect and that was my point. He apparently saw the torque decal under the Buick convention at the time and erroneously thought it meant the cid.

The black 63 Cat that was at the 2003 celebration at Flint was orginally a local car from Winston-Salem, NC. As I recall it was a late model year 63 also with a 425 cid engine. I had seen that car when it was still around here.
