Anyone clear coated a bellhousing, or used some sort of protectant to keep a fresh look?
Any suggestions appreciated:TU:

Depends on the restoration you are doing but I beadblasted mine and painted with the duplicolour red to match the engine, then I clearcoated it to give it alittle shine. See the posting in this section under "richmond 5 speed" and you can see the painted product.
My restoration won't be correct so i went for the painted bellhousing and I'll be painting the transmission as well. We all know how tough it is to wipe and keep bare aluminum clean from leaks or road grime over time.

After bead blasting, mine still had some minor pitting. I then painted it with silver POR15. Glass-smooth finish.

Aluma-blast (http://www.eastwoodco.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=248&itemType=PRODUCT&RS=1&keyword=aluma%2Cblast) is another option.

It looks great. I have heard the 71, GS 455 4 speed is a rare model, I never see or hear about very many of them. It is a treasure, that is for certain.
