windshield wipers on my 55 special

im a newby .. just bought a 55 special and was wanting to know about converting the vaccum wipers over to electric,,,,,,,,,,,, the vaccum wipers are really slow and i live in the pacific northwest so need some good wipers.. thanks

As a temporary fix you might bypass the auxiliary vacuum pump that is connected to the fuel pump. Go directly from the manifold to the wiper motor.
A little WD40 sprayed into the wiper motor might help it too.
You could be loosing a lot of vacuum in your manifold too if the aux. vac pump is leaky. Your engine might pick up a little pep too by bypassing it.
If your car has the wide / narrow gizmo in the dash it has vacuum lines also that could be leaking. You can bypass those too, which might help.
