Hello everyone!
I have another question if someone could be so kind to answer. I need some confirmation from the experts. ;)
What were the original wheels that came on a 1972 Skylark Suncoupe? Were they the 14x6 rally wheels or 15x7 or something totally different?
Thanks in advance for any answers! =)

Thomas,
Your car could have come from the factory with the Standard Hub Cap or any of the other wheels shown in the attached chart. Standard size was 14"

I bought one new. Mine came to the dealer with deluxe wheel covers (top right) but I had them swap the chrome wheels (middle right) off another sun coupe on the lot before I took delivery. They had three for sale at the time. Skylark 350s with 350-2bbl, yellow, green, and orange, all with white interiors and half vinyl white tops. I took the orange one. Sticker price was something like $4100. All were 14" rims.

15X7 Chrome always most desirable.

Hi
The Super Sport Wheel, bottom left, was only available for 1971.
I believe not may Buicks had this option.

George, I will have to disagree with that. In 72 The Buick GS Stage-1 won the coveted CARS Magazine performance Car of the Year Award. The picture of the 72 Stage-1 inside the magazine clearly has these wheels on it. Proof is in the pudding I guess.

Date of magazine was April of 72 if anyone is interested.

The wheel chart that I posted above was from 1972 along with this other article. Was this style wheel available in 1971 :Do No:
Only 50 GS's in 1972 were ordered with that type of wheel, but they were available on all of the other "A" bodies that year also...

I'm pretty sure you could get them in 71, but I alway's thought these were 14x6", not 14x7 like that 72 brochure says:Do No:

Guys,
The Super Sport Wheels were available for 71 and 72. For 71 the only size available was 14x6, but I do believe there were some 72 cars with 14x7 wheels.
I also seem to remember something about this wheel being discontinued during the 72 model year, but don't quote me on that. I think I saw this info on one of the Wholesale Car Order Forms, or in one of my 72 Assembly Manuals.
Duane
PS. Mike Trom, Vickie's 71 Silver GSX came with a set.

Guys
Thanks Duane for clearing up the wheels and that they were available for 71 and sometime during 72.
By the way Duane who do you use and recommend for fuel and brake lines replacement. I am in the middle of a frame off restoration on my 71 GS350 with 4 speed.
Thanks, George
