Well, new to me anyway. My Avalanche has served me well as an all around vehicle and as an exceptional tow vehicle. The 8.1 litre had all the torque you could ask for in towing a full size Buick. I'll be sad to part with it. But with my girlfriend having three kids and myself having two, we needed something to hold the extended family and also be capable of pulling loads.
We found this '04 Caddy Escalade ESV and we'll pick it up later this week. It's got tons of creature comforts and a decent 7700 lb towing capacity thanks to the 6.0 vortec motor.
I can't wait to pick her up and make my first road trip in it!

If only GM would put the Duramax in their full size sport ute line.... I guess you can't have everything.

Parts is about it! The GSX is located in Fairfield, Shelton, and two separate places in Milford! Gotta round up all them parts someday soon! Anytime you want to come over and take your aggressions out ripping apart my 'Cat parts car puts me that much closer to making room for the GSX chassis!
That and the Wildcat to Columbus next year. I'd rather have creature comforts on that long haul!

Ken I have an 07 Escalade. Best vehicle for towing open trailer that I have had in years. Just trailered to Bowling Green in July and gas mileage was great and no issues on power or comfort. I pulled a 20 ft enclosed trailer with 04 Glade with no problems.

Great to hear, John. I'm really excited about this truck, can't wait to put her through the paces. I think a nice trip to my brothers in Maine will be a good start.
Rob, I wonder what those conversions go for???? I thought the Allison wouldn't fit the Suburban tunnel??? Well, if somebody else is doing it, certainly GM could too!

The way I understand it in the 4x4 models they install a body lift to make room. Don't know about the 4x2 models, maybe a beefed up version of the stock tranny.

Eric is right, its a bodylift because the suburban floorplan wont work with the Allison.
