Lagre white walls

Has anybody ever shaved down their white walls to achieve a wider look. Its an old trick to shave off the extra black and expose more whitewall.

I was wondering if anybody has tips for keeping this raw rubber clean (maybe some kind of sealer spray) and bright white. Thanks fellas.
