What do you call it?

Hi. May have been asked before but I can't find it. Is there a source, a book, something that spells out exactlly what various auto trim prieces are called. That includes window felting, channel stuff, strainless steel trim and chrome trim.
I'm cleaning out my shop...it's time and I have a monster amount of various pieces off buicks from 65 to 72. A great deal of trim pieces etc. So before selling here or elsewhere, I'd sure like to know what the proper name is.
As an example, one company says Rubber glass run channel whereas another company says window channel, it's difficult to know what to appropriately tag things. Thanks in advance.

I never owned one but I'd guess that the Fisher Body manual would have this info.

I wouldn't worry about it; call it as you see it because most folks will know what you are talking about...:bglasses:

The terms change depending on how technical you want to be and what era you are talking. For instance: remember the "firewall"? Not anymore - now it's a "Front of Dash" (for obvious reasons). A driveshaft? Technically it's a "propeller shaft", or prop shaft for short.

I wish I had $1.00 for every "hockey stick", "crow bar" or "donkey dxxx" that I have been exposed to in my career...

I've got a Buick Assembly Manual that lists just about everything on 60s and 70s models. I don't know how much these manuals cost, but they must be available somewhere as the previous owner of my car purchased one after 1998. I'll check when I get home today and give you more info. Someone else here may be able to help before then...

Ok, the book I have is called "Buick Chassis and Body Illustration Catalog" It shows exploded illustrations of practically all of the components of a vehicle and includes approx 1965 to 1974. Each part is listed with a name, group number and often a part number.
