hey guy,s just wondering what's the widest tire i can fit on a 64 lesabre on a 15in rim

it's currently riding on 225-75-15s all round which is like 28.4 in diameter.

would 275 60s for rear and 255 60 for front fit?

Not sure on your '64, but on my '62 there's NO WAY that I could fit a 275/60. On the stock rim I could only fit a 235 or 245 with for sure no rubbing. Anything above that and there was A CHANCE it would rub. The main problem, at least for me, was the HUGE brake fins. To actually fit a wide rear tire you'd have to use at least a 17" wheel with alotta backspacing and even then a 275 would be tight.

For the front, again I think a 235 is the max. Anything more and you'd rub when turning.

Just to clarify, this is only for my '62. It may or may not be the same as your '64. I thought since you hadn't gotten any responces I might as well share what I had figured out. Good luck!

thanks, yea thinking about it, doesnt seem 275 will clear cause of the fender skirt...similar to the 68-69 larks..
i was thinking 255 all round for a fatter tire but i'll be giving up an inch of ride height...not sure if that'll be a good thing or not

but then again googled 62 invicta side profile looks identical so you just may have answered my question, thanks again

i had 255-60-15 on my 64 wildcat, they rubbed the fenders in the back when i made a turn, now i have 235-70-15 on the car and that goes well.

hey was that with the stock 7in with 4.25 bs,

you think an 8inch wide and 4.5 bs would work
that with a 205 75 series would work and wont be much different in height compared to the 225 75 15s all round

hmm
how does 245 70 rear and 225 75 front sound!
just a tad taller at 28.52 then what i have on now(28.3) and .39 skinnier then a 255 60 which is 10.04...

k, guess next time i'll just compare the prices for 225 75 to 235 70s and get which ever is cheap, the other combos dont seem likley to be made in the same style tire..

Sounds good, just make sure it'll fit! Also, just throwing this out there, but you could go with a shorter front tire to give it a "raked" stance. Like a 215/60, 205/60, etc.

I had 255-60-15 all around,no problems in the front only in the back(that was with chevy rims with 4,5 backspacing, still have them on now)

hmm cool, so technically 245s all around should fit with stock buick as i believe theyre all 4.25bs for all years?

awsome, 245s all round it is!

once the 225 75 white walls wear out i'm getting some white letter 245s :Brow:

should also help out with takeoff as its almost 2inches in diameter smaller then the current setup and my combo is 64 300 with st300 lol
