67 GS - Rear wheel/slicks-how big?

Hi Everyone,

I currently run Buick ralleys (15x7-4 3/4" backspacing) on my '67 with no problems. I run a Phoenix 28.5 X 10.5 slick. I would like to lose some weight and switch to a aluminum racing wheel...can I go to 15X8 in the rear? What backspacing? I do not want to modify the wheel wells.

My '67 has the stock width 8.2" 10-bolt rearend. I have 15x8 Weld wheels with 5" back spacing, tires are 26x10.5 M/T ET Street. They are pretty tight but nothing rubs.
