I am looking to install disc brakes on my 70 Skylark, can anybody help? I wonder if any modern car has a set up that I can get hold of second hand that will fit. Are there any kits available out there? As i am South African my options are a bit limited.

There are a lot of kits available and that is what I would recommend.

Visit the Buick Performance site for several pages of info on the swap.

I would suggest that paying more for a kit will save you a lot of aggrevation of having to find this or that part or get part way into it and not having a pin or coupling that you need.
You can buy kits from In-Line Tube

That is where I got my kit. They are complete and range from stock replacement to performance and any combination in between.
Although you might do better for location to do a Brembo kit. I am sure they have a South Africa distributor. Even though the brakes are way more expensive you may end up the same because of export/import/shipping savings.

I had devised a set of brackets that let you use a dual caliper brake set up from a 99 up Trans am or Camaro. Read about it in the link above.
