V-6 engine

Everywhere I read, people are suggesting to use a heavy flywheel with the 1975-1976 Buick 231 3.8L odd fire engine to get the engine to run smoother. If I were planning on using the 200-4R automatic trans with this engine, is there a particular flex plate that I should use? If yes, does anyone have a part number? Thank you for your support, Tommy.

i believe they where talking about a manual trans
ussally for jeep swaps and mostly 225 odd fires since they did have 2 different weight flywheels but i beleive they swap to 75-76 engine
ta might have something

I have been doing a lot of research. I do have confirmation that the 200-4R trans will bolt to a 1966 Buick 225 odd fire engine. What I need to know now is, if the crankshaft Harmonic Damper from the 1966 Buick odd fire V-6 will fit the Buick 3.8 V-6 engines, or if they are the same? Does anyone know, what other years it will fit? The reason I ask is because I plan on running a higher amp alternator, ac compresser, and power steering pump. Finding the right combination which will allow all the pulleys to align, will take a lot of research and time. If anyone knows what that combination is, that will be a great help. Thank you, Tommy.

it will fit but the balance is different ,you would need to rebalance the whole engine
you just need the pulley to run that stuff ,not the balancer

just get the pulley combo off one vehicle so they all match then use the waterpump for that year v6 also-
oddfires can have a short pump

Yes, the flywheel and harmonic damper of a 225 V6 odd-fire and 231 V6 odd-fire (1975-1977.1/2) will interchange.
Flywheels/harmonic balancer
The flywheel and harmonic balancer of a 225 and Odd Fire 231 will interchange. A heavier 225 flywheel can be used on an Even Fire 231 if it is balanced with the crank.
