Anyone running a 15x8 with 4.125 backspacing in the rear of a 67 gs400\skylark?
Found a good deal on a full set of street stars and wanted to make sure these would fly.
Thanks,
Tom

I'm running 8" 200s with 4.5 inch backspace and with 235 tires it just barely clears on the drivers side out side. I could of, should of, went with 5 inch backspace.

Mike, the Pontiac guy I met in Reynolds had 5 1/2 inch back spacing on his WELD wheels for his 67 Lemans and they fit great with a 70 12 bolt rear. I have 15X8 4 1/2 backspace WELD wheels and 275/60/15 MT Drag Radials and they do not fit under my 67 with the wider 70 12 bolt but fit my 64 Skylark with the 66 12 bolt that is 1 inch narrower than the 70 rear end.

Yeah Ed, Both my 10 bolt and 12 bolt were the narrower '65 versions. I only went with 4.5 backspace because I thought I'd have tailpipe clearance issues but once I got the wheels and tires on I saw there was plenty of room. Oh well, live and learn. When I get new wheels for the drag radials they'll have at least 5 in of backspace.
As for Tom's question above, I don't think 4.12 backspace would be enough.
