'63 Wildcat Eyebrow Trim

Before I get carried away with the polishing etc... is this piece on a '63 Cat supposed to be painted or is it chrome (stainless)? This is driving me nuts and copious amounts of beer (a WOT staple of course).

I believe they are chrome plated pot metal at least the ones on my 64 are.

I looked at several cars online, and they all appear to be chrome plated pot metal.
