Avatar problems

I tried reducung my selected avatar for a pic I like, have gone as small as 125 x 104 and it still 48 kb...any smaller it will look like a spec of dust. Any advice or tricks...150 X (what ever maintained aspect ratio was ) was 49 kb.

Often times, a picture that is either high resolution, or with a lot of graphical elements is not a good choice for an avatar. I'm no expert at this, but I think your going to probably have to change file types.

Is it a .jpg now?
