I just purchased from Steele Rubber two pieces of weather stripping that goes on the front of the rear window which presses against the rear of the front window (yeah it’s confusing to me too). I started to peel off some of the original and found that it’s connected into a channel in the rear window. There appears to be medal shims within the channel that holds the rubber. Has anyone ever replaced this, if so, can you explain how?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Your car appears to be a hardtop (no center post); is it a 2dr or 4dr?
Anyhow your new rubber slides into the channel from the bottom after chipping out the old crumbling rubber...it usually does not need anything to hold it into place, but a little weatherstrip cement can be used if needed.
It should be covered with 'bow drill cloth' so that the front window slides against it easily and to prevent squeeks.

Thanks for the help, It did come out via the bottom. The Stripping from Steele did not have the cloth covering. It took two of us to get new piece back in that channel. BTW, it's a 4dr.

You can buy the bow drill cloth from Steele and others...it really makes a difference in the front window effort if all doors are closed...and it looks nicer too.

Does it wrap around the rubber or is it glued in place? I did get the piece on the passenger side completed, waiting for some help from my neighbor to complete the driver side. I actually thought it would have come the way you described it.
I'm going to Steele's sit now......Thanks again!!

Glued, after wiping down with detergent and water and brake cleaner to degrease. Sometimes it is supplied with adhesive backing, othewise use spray trim adhesive.
