View Full Version : not receiving emails from v8buick???

I will admit that I am not an expert with computers, but I have tried to figure this out on my own and have come up with nothing. :(
I haven't received any emails/notifications from v8buick since 5/30/08, and don't know why. I have checked my user options and "instant notification" is still selected for my thread activity, along with email notification for private messages, but I am not receiving anything. I also checked my bulk/spam folders to see if it is my email software or ISP provider blocking them, but it is also empty. I am still receiving notifications from the BPG forums, PayPal, ebay, and other things, just not v8buick.
Any suggestions?

I've had the same problem. But sometimes I'll get them a week or 2 later for a subscribed thread. My email addy is with yahoo so maybe they are having issues?

Same problem here too. I used to only receive notifications of PMs but now I don't get anything. There is nothing in my email spam folders either.

It makes me feel better knowing it may not be on my end if others are having the same problem, but I still wonder why or what has changed to block the emails.
Can a moderator please research this to see if emails are being sent? If so, are they bouncing back?
Thanks for any help. :TU:

I still do not know if the email thingy is working yet. No action on subscribed threads here. I wonder if they even realize we have this in question...
Let us know if you are aware and looking into why the notifications stopped for some of us...

I'm told the board's email function is working properly, and I myself have been receiving board emails. I'd suggest looking into the possibility that your ISP is blocking emails from V8Buick, and treating them as spam emails, and recheck the email address in your UserCP sections here to be sure it is correct.

I just changed it to a different email address. I'll see if I get anything now.

Can someone reply to this thread one more time?
I changed my email address to my gmail account and got mail. I changed it back to my sbcglobal account and now I want to see if I receive mail there.

I am still not receiving emails. I am using YAHOO, and always have. Maybe I need to change to a paid address.
I would like to know if others has started working again.

Got an email for this thread. Am beginning to wonder if it is a yahoo issue but I get notification from other boards regularly. I've been with yahoo since '97 and never had a problem :Do No:

I also have received notifications from this thread today. I've had issues in the past with Yahoo and emails...

Nope, didn't get the replies or the private message I got. I use SBCGLOBAL/AT&T which is a paid subscriber. They use Yahoo though.

Mark, are you able to screen your incoming spam emails, or does SBCGLOBAL just delete them? I assume they have some type of spam filtering? If they are blocking V8, you should be able to add V8 as an approved sender.

It looks just like Yahoo's setup. I have a spam folder but nothing is in it and I added V8 Buick as an approved contact a while ago.
It would have to be blocked before it even got to my mailbox.

It's strange, I get the email "Action Required to Verify Email Change for V8Buick.com" when I change my email back to sbcglobal. But then I don't get anything else. I would have thought that would have been blocked to since it's coming from the same address.

I have Yahoo also and since the last V8 board back-up I have been getting my V8 emails 2-4 days late :Do No: Everything was fine before :puzzled:

If your using AT&T or BellSouth they have blocked a whole bunch of email servers.
Right now my hosting provier hostgator support forum is in an uproar as they block them. I can't even email support as my account emial is an att.net one.
Well they block ThePlanet and hostgator re-sells TP hosting to smaller folks.
ThePlanet being one of the largest host in the country.
Could be what ever host V8 uses is also being block by AT&T and Bell South
They would have to report the problem and the webhost will have to contact them to get their mail servers unblocked.

Easy check would be for the board admins to look for bounced message with a 550 error, which means the site has been blacklisted.
550 Error - Blocked for abuse. See http://att.net/blocks
