If my car (69 Skylark) has aftermarket guages, is it possible to still have the idiot lights at the same time? If so, how would it be hooked up

You simply use a tee at each of the existing sender points. May take some trial and error depending on your setup. Here are a few related threads:

When you turn your ignition to "ON" without cranking it over, do your idiot lights come on? like dawildcat sez, it depends how the gauges are setup.

No, in the ON position the only light that comes on is the BRAKE light. However when I put the key in Acc position (turn the key backwards) I get the GEN light. It would be nice to have the lights as an additional warning, in addition to the guages. By the way, since the guages are already installed, how can I tell what wires were used for the warning light senders?

You should be able to leave them wired like stock and then have the gauges wired seperatly. You may have to T off the oil gauge hole to get both the stock oil dummy and the aftermarket oil gauge. Water temp you can just put two seperate gauges in if you have an new intake.
