1974 Century AC

My AC is no longer blowing cold, I am a rookie with AC work. I am assuming it needs a recharge, or more. Where do I start, does it have to be converted in order to recharge it?

first start the engine and turn on the a/c. Then look at the compressor and see if the clutch is turning with the pulley. Then you'll need to connect a manifold gauge set to the high and low side ports and check the pressures.
