I reinstalled my instrument cluster today. It was a bit of a struggle, but I got it in place without damaging the temp gauge sending wire.
However, after I got it in place, I suddenly realized that I can't remember which wire goes where on the charge indicator. There is a red and a black wire, but I can't remember which terminal is where, and I really don't want to pull it back out and risk kinking the temp sending wire again.
So, when dealing with the charge indicator, which terminal does the red wire go to, and which does the black go to? Obviously positive/negative, but I don't remember which one is where! So does the red one go on the post closest to the passenger side, or the driver's side?
I know it's a silly way to ask this question, but I painted myself into a silly corner. Also, I did manage to connect what I thought was the speedometer cable into the side of the cluster, but coming out of the rear of it is what appears to be another speedometer cable - perhaps for the odometer? I don't see anything for this to connect to - any ideas?
